NOMINATED FOR GOLDEN GLOBES

(El Universal) Los Angeles .- The director Martin Scorsese was nominated today for a Golden Globe for best director for "Hugo", his debut in 3D, while Woody Allen for "Midnight in Paris".

Along with them, will compete on January 15 for the award given annually by the Association of the Hollywood Foreign Press (HFPA) Alexander Payne for "The Descendants" by Michel Hazanavicius "The Artist" and George Clooney for "Aides of March" .

Glenn Close ("Albert Nobbs"), Meryl Streep ("The Iron Lady") and Rooney Mara ("The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo") were also nominated as best actress in a drama, as announced by the HFPA.

Their opponents will be Viola Davis ("The Help") and Tilda Swinton ("We Need to Talk About Kevin").

George Clooney ("The Descendants"), Brad Pitt ("Moneyball") and Leonardo DiCaprio ("J. Edgar") are candidates for best drama actor, and his rivals will be Michael Fassbender ("Shame") and Ryan Gosling ("Ides of March ").

Moreover, the Spanish "The skin I live" by Pedro Almodovar, has been nominated as best foreign language film, and will compete against "The Flowers of War" (China), "In The Land of Blood and Honey "(U.S.)," The Kid with a Bike "(Belgium) and" the Separation "(Iran).

"Talk to Her" and "All About My Mother", both of Almodóvar, were blessed with the Golden Globes in previous editions.

For his part, "Flowers of War" by Zhang Yimou, is the first foray Welsh actor Christian Bale in the Chinese film, while "In The Land of Blood and Honey" is the debut behind the scenes of Angelina Jolie.

"A Separation" and "The Kid With a Bike" and ran as candidates for the Spirit, the leading independent film awards.
