ZETA-JONES RECEIVES OBE

(quien.com) The actress became Commander of the Order of the British Empire, distinction received from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace. The Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones was on Thursday 30 April, a royal warrant from Prince Charles, on behalf of Elizabeth II in Buckingham Palace. Zeta-Jones became Commander of the Order of the British Empire at the ceremony, which was accompanied by her husband, actor Michael Douglas, and the two children of both, Carys and Dylan.  Zeta-Jones, 41, said he was "very excited and nervous" to receive the honor, which was awarded for his services to the film industry and his charitable efforts.  He said it was important "to have Michael in good health and enjoying the occasion with me. "  Douglas has been battling throat cancer. Zeta-Jones said that Prince Charles had expressed his sympathies and was "happy to hear" that Douglas was recovering.
